The Coronavirus pandemic has hit the World hard. Thousands of people have died whilst the scientists tried to find a vaccine for it.
In the first few month people were panic buying and items were running out quickly in the shops. All businesses had to close and public transport was taken off.
Flights where banned and countries closed their borders.
My experience was easy. But I know for many suffered hardship and the elderly in care homes were not allowed visits.
I was lucky in more ways than one. I had family who drove and helped me with shopping so that I did not have to go to the shop down the road. I have 2 local shops near me at walking distance. When family could not do shopping I went to the shop and only bought food for a week at a time and left food for other people to buy at the shop. Other people were going hungry and running out of supplies.
It took a year for the vaccines to be found. The scientists achieved this and have been working through the UK population by age groups. Vaccines emerged by the 2nd Christmas of the pandemic. I again was lucky in that family who drove helped me get vaccinated at the centres. I have now had both doses of the Pfiser vaccine and no side effects.
I count my lucky stars that I survived and had plenty of food! I got my company from the neighbours next door by going in my front garden. I was not cooped up indoors losing my mind! I found nice interesting programmes on TV to watch in the evenings. I sorted out my junk and the flat and the gardens. I paid my bills.
I think we are all looking forwards now to the future when it is all back to normal. Will it ever be normal again? With luck!
