The tide is in and covering the sand.
I leave my footprints with my hands!
I sit with coffee and read my book.
The sea washes in and covers my foot.
It meanders through the sand,
it is blue and cold!
It is runny and fluid,
it is running over my hand!
The sea, it glistens in the sun.
Holds an untold story!
Many ships sail on her, from when time begun,
gulls ride the waves, having fun!
The sand is golden and full of pebbles.
The boulders rise high jutting out.
The seaweed is scattered along the beach,
We sit on the sand reading books.
With a flask of coffee, reading away!
When out the blue, down comes a gull!
Knocking off someone’s ice cream today!
Eating chips out of cardboard boxes,
sandwiches gain sand and get gritty!
So come to the beach with me today,
and sit with me by the sea!
